C300: Tokina Cinema AT-X 11-16mm T3.0

why u think so? 1900$ is kind of cheap for cinema zoom lens, i would say its almost for free......

Stupid price
I don't think so. It's actually a very good price. I'm glad to see cinema lenses that don't cost $5K. CP2's are the least expensive true cinema lenses and they start at around $5K. If your budget is DSLR lenses not cinema then you have options like the Rokinon and they are pretty good too.

how is that stupid? just because it out of your range then automatically it is stupid?

It's stupid because the standard Tokina 16-28mm is a couple of hundred dollars more than the 11-16mm yet the Cine version is a couple of thousand more.

I have owned both the Duclos PL mount version, and the stock Tokina 11-16 in EF mount. Lens mounts aside, if you want a low cost solution, you can purchase both focus and zoom gears which are custom fit off eBay right now for a very reasonable price, which gives you the ability to use a follow focus to zoom or focus.

Based on the pictures, it would appear that the size, filter threads, gearing and focus throw for the 11-16mm t3 is the same as on the photo version. It seems like a lot of money to pay just to have manual control of the aperture. Does it maintain autofocus or are you also paying to get that thrown out?

I have the stock lens and, with the old school way in which the manual focus engages, I can't imagine how having the cine version would be significantly better. I might be wrong.

Maybe if you have the funds to buy it perhaps...
