[FS: General] Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 - brand new

Brand new, came straight to me from Tokina. I tried it out with a few stills and a test movie clip and it was simply too wide for my shooting style. No wear at all – you'd believe it had never been touched, but that wouldn't be honest of me

All packaging, lens hood, blank warranty card (Tokina rep wrote serial number down on card, otherwise blank).

$700 shipped (CONUS). I can toss up an ebay buy-it-now for peace-of-mind if anyone is interested.

Basics of selling: Ask for more than you're willing to take in anticipation that people will offer less.

Maybe, but sellers are usually polite enough to give the illusion they're pricing used gear in good faith.

Why all the crying about the price? This lens is in demand and if he wants to make a profit that's his choice so stop bitching and move on. I'm sure the ones that are poking at this would of sold it under 300 if they owned it :)

How was I impolite? How did I fail to price my gear in good faith?

I bought a lens. I didn't like it. I paid for the product and shipping. I would like to recoup that cost. The lens is in high demand and most outlets are out of stock with backorder logs when they receive a few. Supply and demand. $700 is a fair price for this lens shipped immediately without having to wait to find one in stock. Also, I have stated that I will accept less money, and was thorough enough to note that the warranty card was not *completely* blank since the serial number was written in.

So where exactly are you coming off?

all i asked was if it's the same lens selling for 599 at B&H(regardless if it's in stock)...it's not like i poked the seller in the eye.

throw it on ebay...
buy it now and be done.

If he sold it on eBay for $700 he would get less than $630 after ebay and paypal fees. (that's why I try to always use craigslist if possible!)

The lens is in-stock for $650 shipped from reputable taiwanese resellers, but a $700 asking price seems fair for local and quick shipment.

Why are some people complaining? If you don't like the price, don't buy it. You can ask whatever price you want... nothing wrong with that... it's a free market!
