C100: Tokina 11-16 with c100

I use it all the time, awesome combo. AF does work but hunts more than Canon lenses. But as great as the AF upgrade is, you really don't need it on the 11-16, hard to be out of focus when sticking with infinity at 11mm.

Lens works great with a ronin. To any gimbal users here: when the side grip isn't attached, is your only option using the PUSH AUTO IRIS button? I can't figure out how to manually change the iris any other way.

Thanks for the info Slav. Is there any IS on the lens? Or do you not need it since it's so wide? Also how is the color when cutting with canon lenses. Thanks

its a fantastic lens! my go to for glide cam work, and shooting up close handheld stuff at receptions. Colors look great.

No IS, but don't need it. It's less jittery for walking / car / boat / plane / helicopter shots than a 17-55mm with IS on. Cuts easily with Canon lenses, and I shoot with C-log. Take a look at some of my videos and see if you can spot it - indieamerica.tv

Hearnia - you can assign the play controls (behind the LCD screen) to do what the grip/jog-wheel do when it's not attached. I wish the C100 came with these buttons already assigned this, but alas, just takes a few minutes anyway.

I,ve bought the C100 Mark ll with the Tokina 11-16 T3 cinema ATX and it is a hell of a duo. I like manual because i have a ENG background.

Awesome thanks I'll try that.

thanks for the advice all! This lens seems like a win-win. And a good price too! Perfect complement to the canon 24-105. (and then my next wish list lens is the canon 70-200!)

Pretty sure the dual pixel auto focus doesn't work on the Tokina 11-17 unless the aperture is at 2.8. Can anyone confirm or deny?

It works at all apertures. The new sigma art lenses (like the 18-35) need to be firmware updated to work outside of the widest aperture though.
