Tokina 11-16 vs. Canon 10-22 on C300

I've been using the Canon EF-S 10-22mm for several years. After hearing the rave reviews for the Tokina 11-16mm I decided to purchase one for the C300 with the intention of selling the Canon. I figured the image would be at least as good and the bonus is that it goes F2.8 as opposed to the F3.5-4.5 of the Canon.

Just finished a test shooting the front of my house. I can't post the images as I don't want my house "out there..." But a big surprise - compared to the Canon, with the Tokina the house distorted in the shape of a pyramid or teepee - this description is an exaggeration to give an idea of what is happening to the image. With the Canon the image seemed in the proper dimension, while the Tokina the left and right edges of the house were tweaking inward at the top. This is with both lenses at full wide.

Don't mean to trash the Tokina - but very surprising results. Has anyone out there done any testing with these two lenses?

I owned the Tokina 11-16 and as much as I liked the optics, I disliked the focus ring (slides In and Out depending if you want to go manual or auto) and found the zoom range pretty much useless. The Canon optical quality is excellent, the smaller aperture is not much of a factor on a super wide focal length with such a fast camera and the 11-22 pretty much emulates a Canon lens I have learned to love, the EF 16-35 f2.8L, though not as fast and with more DOF because of the C300 cropped sensor.
