To Jim, Graeme, Ted, Johanne and to all of you the RED team,

Just want to take some minutes to thank you for your unbelievable work, efforts and findings.

About one year ago, Graeme told me that RED was an extraordinary project.
I know for sure Graeme being a super image mentor, but the project seemed so ambitious, and “too good to be true” (in a good way) in my mind.

A lightweight super powerfull camera… affordable, even for small producers.

I was very curious, so I went to NAB…
...there was the RED booth with some prototypes, metal parts in glass cages…

I was happy to finally meet Graeme, then i spoke a few minutes with Jim.
Everybody in the RED team seemed to have that passion about image, cinema…

The team was speaking about the RED camera, but also, I think you really were listening to people.
It was obvious that the energy was there.

December 2006, a few months later, and what I’m seeing is truly unbelievable. The images are just fantastic, the REDCODE, workflow, versatility…everything.

…and we have updated info about the progression, the development, directly from you.

I never thought you were going to go that fast, that good, honestly.

I understood that RED’s mission was to bring top quality to us at an affordable price.
Time tells that it was very true.

Bravo and thanks so much to all of you.

You are truly unique.

My best thoughts, Sincerely.

Well said Antoine...

RED's impact on the motion media industry reminds me of the scenes in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where Butch and Sundance are being chased by a posse. No matter what they did they couldn't shake the posse off from their trail. Each time they would view the posse off in the distance coming toward them, they would say "Who are those guys?!". I get the feeling at this point that the naysayers who initially said "Nah, they'll never pull that off" are now continually saying what Butch and Sundance were saying - "Who are those guys?!"

They won't shake the RED posse from their trail...

hehe, Gibby.

Considering the fact that they're trying to catch up to RED, I think it's more like this ->

*Sony exec "Hey, what's that up in the sky ? What's that boom ?"
Passerby " I think it's 4K".

 :p

so you say you want a revolution

Heh, like Sony needs any more bad news next year.

Yes, let us all lift a very hefty glass to the Red team. You all find some good quality down-time with the families in the week ahead, okay? We'll be here to cheer you on come Jan 2!
