all these "should i buy now or?..." discussions are really misguided.

if you NEED the camera now - BUY THE CAMERA NOW, and RENT cards or firestores or whatever as projects dictate... if an extra grand is gonna make the decision to buy or not - you dont really NEED it to begin with.

i bought my HVX when i decided my XL2 still had enough market value to sell. bought my 8gig p2 card when i booked enough work to justify it. bought my 2, 16 gig cards when i booked enough work to justify them. no consumer is gonna outsmart the market. buy what you NEED when you need it.

Bought my HXV and received it yesterday. Was able to justify it via new client business in 2008. Besides, my old camera is almost 8 years old. Starting to look soft.

Bought my HVX and justified it by just feeling better I am not even near using its real value. But you know what? I don't care

bought my HVX 18 months ago and still continue to use my DVX on a regualr basis. My hvx is my Cinema HD kit, and my DVX is the ENG package.
