Titanic 2...

I'm currently in the land of no range (mountains of NC), and I had some free time from the seminars. While perusing a site that keeps me up to date on pop culture and trends, I saw a trailer for Titanic 2. However, this craptastic range won't let me watch but half of the video. I thought it was a joke at first, but it looks like it could actually be a REAL movie. Can anyone confirm or deny this movie coming into existence? After googling Titanic 2, there were too many spoofs to thumb through without high speed. Please tell me this isn't real.

it's by the Asylum... not surprised.

from Wikipedia:
The film takes place in April 2012, 100 years since the sinking of the RMS Titanic. A new luxury cruise liner, the Titanic 2, has been christened, and is soon to embark on her maiden voyage, on the same route the Titanic took 100 years before.

During the voyage, an iceberg comes onto her path and her crew must prevent her from suffering the same fate of her predecessor.

probably would've made for a better movie

That's the one!

I'm not familiar with The Asylum. What else have they done that I might recognize?

Fahad: I hit play on your video ... I should be able to watch it around 7 or 8 tonight once it's loaded.

Except for WAR OF THE WORLDS then.

That one was originally supposed to be a major studio film, when 9/11 hit and the studio just shut it down.
I think it was even supposed to be set in the late 19th century London just like the book.

From what I remember reading about it, the people behind it decided to keep making the film but with alternative financing. It became much lower budget obviously, but it was around long before Spielberg's version.

but War of the Worlds was produced in 2005, dir. steven spielberg. and the asylum one was a 'modern adaptation' too

BTW I'd love to have seen DiCaprio and Winslett starr in Titanic 2.

"How can the same shi* happen to the same guy twice!"

that would be great!

Has anybody here actually seen any of Asylum's films? I haven't, but I have to admit that I am intrigued by some of the ridiculous titles.

Are the films tongue in cheek, or are they serious?
