Tips on selling a DVX

Hello DVX community,

I am a film student and was able to purchase a new DVX100b before I started school. This was about three years ago. It saved my life so many times having equipment to shoot school projects on and several times made me some money.

I now however due to financial issues need to sell it.

I would like to list it somewhere where someone will give me a fair price, this camera is really worth a lot, Mine only has 100 hours on the heads and I've babied it since i had it.

What I would like are suggestions on where to sell it, I've tried craigslist but have only received sketchy responses for people most likely trying to scam me. eBay to me is too risky, I need a return on my investment and there are too many people flooding the market.

***I am not trying to advertise this camera for sale on these forums. Simply seeking a place where I can list it alternately.

Is $2000 a fair asking price? I bought it for $2800. Its almost like new condition and these cameras are workhorses!

Thanks for your input.

I am in the same boat as you. I think 2,000 is a little much though for a used DVX100B. Personally, I would spend the extra 300 or 500 bucks to get a brand new one from B&H over buying a 2,000 dollar used one...

I know people sell them on Ebay for as much as 1600, I have seen. I got mine for 3,500 or so new from B&H and I put mine on Craigslist asking for 1,500 and I got two legit responses asking if I can go lower and then 2 asking for my paypal account so they can buy it and send it to their son who is out of the country.

Have you tried seeing if anyone would buy it at your school? I would rather use a used camera for the day with the owner before I buy it, maybe someone thinks the same way at your school.

Try selling it here. Post it in the marketplace section. Post pics of it and a pic of the hrs meter. 2000 is 2 high. 1500-1600 is more like it. Also post any additional things it may come with.

Steven u selling ur dvx? What u wanna move on to?

I want to pick up a 7d along with my DVX to screw around with until I have enough money for a real HD camera, but I don't think I can afford to have both so I am going to be trying to get rid of the DVX for now, sadly...

kool...i wanna pick up a gh1 sometime soon. i need a still camera, and i luv being able to use sooo many lenses with that plus its cheaper, plus the articulated LCD. i aslo want to play around with AVChd format before i get the hmc150 sometime next year.
