GH5 Tips for matching footage of Canon full frame camera with GH5 mirrorless camera?

I am shooting on Canon 5D Mark III Camera with MarvelCine picture style and GH5 Camera with CineD picture style and I am trying to get both footage close to each other to minimise drastic differences when combining both on an edit.

I am trying to stick to the same brand lenses and filters when possible but still there is just a noticeable difference in the quality of the footage.

Anyone have any tips on mixing different camera footage, how are you overcoming this either in camera setup or post processing?

Are you using certain camera settings(saturation, contrast, picture profiles), or techniques in post production to fix this(ie. saturation, sharpness, luts, etc.).

Thank you.

whichever has the "softer" image, match the other to that with a blur or defocus.
white balancing with Color curves can help if you know how to do that.
Davinci has an auto match thing, IF you recorded color charts on both.
I ALWAYS look at scopes while matching footage

If you haven't shot yet, I think lots of trials and tests is your best bet.
Using the same white/grey balance card may help, but that is no guarentee depending on how the camera electronics and sensors (which are different) set things.

It's not quite that simple.

I can't even stand looking at footage from my GH5S and my S1H on the same timeline. I'd jump off a bridge if I had to sync color between two different camera manufacturers. That may say more about my color grading ability than I cared to let out, but this is where I'm at with this. Davinci with the color chart sync is much better than what Premiere Pro does with it's color matching tool. I've tried it on the GH5S and S1H and ended up tweaking it all by hand.

Slightly off topic, but do the g85/gx85 color profiles match the GH5? Looking to pick one of those 2 models up....

And back on topic, has anyone tried matching the Canon R or RP to the GH5?

I ask this with the caveat that I would be doing very little grading (if at all possible).

Thanks everyone for their response so far!

@Immmacuser your link does not work. Do you have an exact address or can you embed it?

I have a GH5 and a somewhat older GX8, and frequently mix 4K video from both. I don't have any problems -- I keep them set to the Cinelike-D setting, and they match pretty well.

I'll echo, I've mixed in a gx85 with GH5 footage and it's been pretty spot on though I found Standard color profile was best (due to the lack of cine-d on gx85 without the "hack")

Hey, thanks guys!

Thinking of just using natural straight out of camera with very minimal grading/correction....
