Timelapse

Hi, guys.
I have an upcoming shoot where I have to do a timelapse
for about 12 hours or so. For obvious reasons I will capture straight to
my laptop. I'm gonna use a free program called AnimatorDV Simple +.
The event is 12 000 soup cans that will be put up (and spell the word hunger)
and handed out to people on the street.
I was thinking of capturing 1 frame every second, but is that too much?
Has anyone done something similar?
Thanks for your help, guys.

It's 24 minutes, no?
Either way, it's too much. I'll try to calculate a better interval.
I guess I can always speed things up in post too.
Thanks for your input.

Ha, I was assuming you were shooting 24p. Either way, the important thing if that you can fit it on one tape without swapping out. Once you capture, you can speed it to as fast as you want it. It should look nice.

I'm actually capturing straight to my laptop so I don't have to worry
about fitting it on a tape.
