Timelapse with Firestore

You can only do it in DV mode. HDV won't record a single frame at any given time because the format itself isn't frame discrete.
If you want super long timelapses I don't think video cameras are a good way to go anyhow. Use a digital still camera with a large capacity memory card and convert for the HD frame.
If you want a "timelapse look" you can simply record HDV for hours and then speed it up like crazy in post. You can record for 6 hrs in HDV on the Firestore. Just plug that into the computer and do the math to skip frames at the rate you would've wanted the timelapse to be.

That's all that I did in my moon shots. I had it in HD hooked into the FS and just recorded about 20 minutes worth of footage. Brought it into FCP and sped it up
