GH2 Timelapse w/ GH2 trouble

Is there any way to take a long exposure photo and not have the camera take the same amount to write the photo?

If you turn off the long exposure noise reduction you might still want to take a dark frame by putting on the lens cap... You can then use this for image subtraction in your image processing program of choice to reduce noise on all of your images. I haven't done this yet but probably should. Currently even for my time lapses or star trail images, I've stuck with the noise reduction routine in camera.

Thanks guys... that part worked. The part that didn't work was being able to do a 3 hour time lapse in 39˚F weather on a fresh battery. Only captured 131 photos, about 5.5 seconds.
