timelapse on the af100?

Can anyone confirm whether or not the timelapse abilities of the af100 include the
option to use a long shutter speed of say 1/2 sec or longer.

Thanks, tim

I would doubt it; the slowest shutter speed in normal mode was 1/24th. The HPX/HVX line don't allow slow shutters during interval recording either.

I have asked them specifically to enable long shutters for this exact reason, but I don't think that the current prototypes have it and I would not be optimistic of it making it into the final.

well, here's to hoping they enable it. Or perhaps leave a back door to it like they did with the HVX and the frame rate hack.
If it doesn't have that capability in the final model then i will still have to drag an slr with me, and i have HUGE hopes that i can completely replace the slr in my kit.

Hey I've started doing some timelapse, but apparently with the af100 you can film up to 24 hours doing timelapse? Does anyone know how you do this? As there must be a way without staying there and switching batteries etc. I assume theres a way the camera just switches on every minute for example, takes a frame then goes back off? Thanks Taras.

Never heard of that, other than plugging it in with the AC adapter.

1/2 sec is the slowest I can make it, and I finally figured out I had to be in VIDEO cam mode to get it to work. 1/2 sec is pretty good for lots of timelapse options though.

It has an interval recording mode that will take one frame every second or every minute or every ten minutes, etc. If you are trying to do something over a long period of time you would have to use the AC adapter.

Thanks Barry. Does anyone have any examples of shooting over a day? Would the camera be ok to be left on continuously, i dont want it to over heat or get damaged? And in places where an ac adapter isnt possible, could i just turn off the camera and switch batteries, or would that reset and stop the interval recording?
