we had a great shoot last Saturday with the HVX200 P2 and two 4GB cards. So we had to download all the time the contents. First, the assistant made the mistake to forget all the Last Clip.txt files. But it didn't bother us at all, because we knew that theres a system in those files and it's easy to recover or create them on your own, when you know how. But this led us only to the real big problem:
There were many takes or mfx files which had no timecode.
In some cases just 0 to 0 and in others just xx:xx:xx:xx.
But with the takes/files before or after, there was no problem.
We couldn't find anythnig, what helped us. Not the P2 Log Software, nothing to repair in the camera, no free run, no converting software.
Fact is, there are those mfx clips in the content files and there is any information on it for sure. Then, there are also the .bmp's and the audio mfx's also the .xml's, but it doesn't work.
I tried to import on Avid Xpress Pro and there was the same problem.
Are those files corrupt forever or can help anybody us???
We edit on FCP 5.1.2 on a brand new Macbook Pro. The whole data is about 60GB and the corrupt data is about 2GB, twice. (Only 2 Content files of about 30)
