can someone describe to me the time code the HV20/HV30 uses when it shoots in 24/24f/whatever the 24 frame rate mode they call it?

is drop or non drop frame?

is it base 30 frames for example does the timecode count from 0:00:00:00 to 0:00:00:29 for one second so the next frame the timecode would be 0:00:01:00

or is it base 24 frames for example does the timecode count from 0:00:00:00 to 0:00:00:23 for one second so the next frame the timecode would be 0:00:01:00

make sense? no one over at hv20.com could help or under stand.

i know it 24p adding pulldown to make it 60i, i understand all this, im asking specifically about the timecode specs. i need to know this before i decide to purchase a hv20 or hv30

There shouldn't be any change in the time code when you change the frame rate because it is recorded as 60i no matter what. It doesn't even add pulldown flags. So as long as you don't remove the pulldown thus the repeated frame, all of your video specs should be the same as 60i.
