Timecode match

how can the P2 material be matched to "oldschool realtime timecodes"?
we want to mix DV50 material with analogue BetacamSP cams and need the realtime timecode embedded in the clips for editing.

does the HVX record the timecodes just like the old cameras (incl. the DVX) or is all that gone with P2???

DVCPRO HD does feature a smpte timecode track, but as the HVX-200 does not feature a Timecode in connector, there is no way to sync this track to other devices.
The best option is to get a small timecode generator like the aaton TC+, sync it with the bata camera and record a freerun time onto the audio track. Then in any avid editor you can extract the timecode from the audio track. FCP does not have this feature.

Another option is to set both cameras to freerun, reset the timecode and start the counter at the exact same time.

Last option is an oldscool slate...
