Timecode is stuck (when tape is stopped, or removed)

I just finished logging a tape (on my DVX100a), ending at TC 01:43:15.05, and when I tried to batch capture, the timecode got stuck. No matter how far into the tape, what tape, or if there's no tape in the camera, if it's stopped, it thinks the tape is at TC 01:43:15.05.

If I play the tape, it knows where it's at (eg. TC 01:35:56.18), but as soon as I stop the tape, it thinks it's back at TC 01:43:15.05. Thus, it's unable to find the starting point for any logged clips, rewinding to the correct point in the tape, stopping, and thinking again that it's at TC 01:43:15.05.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on with this? I've tried turning the camera off & on, playing different tapes, using the hard-reset dimple button, the counter reset button, recording new footage onto different tapes, and switching batteries, but it continues to be stuck at TC 01:43:15.05, even when there's no tape inside.

Thanks for any ideas!!!
