Time Flies (skateboarding montage)

Finished this today, after working on it for nearly 3 months.

I tried something different from my normal work, and wanted to make it really fast paced and interesting, I hope I've pulled it off!
All of the fisheye shots are done with a Panasonic HPX-171, and most of the setup/lifestyles shots were done with the 7D.
All of the timelapses were done using the 7D.

Critique welcome!

So does this mean you normally try to make things that aren't interesting? ;-)
I think you did a great job, the footage from the two cameras works together well, really good editing job. If I could nitpick anything, maybe take another pass at the on screen type, that didn't work for me, but that is a minor thing. Good job!

Haha maybe I worded that wrong! What I meant was that my past work isnt as fast paced.

Thanks for the critique as well, appreciate it

I've watched this video 3-4 times since you posted it, but I haven't had the time to comment...don't have much now either, arggg.

Basically, this is awesome:

The skateboard talent were great and fun to watch.

Your camera work was nothing short of excellent for this - it really put me in the video, and it's part of why I kept coming back to watch it again.

The music was a perfect choice; and you're syncing it with the traffic lights - dude, that was just showing off.

And the real icing on the cake was the editing, for me. Perfect transitions. The screen direction was consistent and really, again, put me in the scene, like I was right there with the skaters.

Honestly, just a damn good job. I can't find anything to complain about...except that it ended.

Personal opinion... I thought the music was annoying. Now that is just my personal opinion. I am sure most everyone enjoys it. As for your shots I thought you kept pretty standard for skate video which I dislike. I love when skate filmers get creative with their angles and use a couple different cuts every once in awhile. For instance the crooked 5-0 stall to fakie at 1:11 (don't quote my trick terms I forget skate lingo) it would've been sweet to see a different close up cut for that shot.

Overall I really enjoyed it as a whole piece. Some good skating in there. Also I really like the editing.

I like it because its from England. Theres never anything good that comes out of England. Apart from this obviously.
