Time code sync?

Ive done some reading on how the dvx100b can sync cams and vtr's. my question is once the dvxb snys with other cams do you have to shoot with the 100b or does it leave what ever information in the other cams so i lets say i dont shoot with the 100b but i do with other cams. for example i have the dvc80 and the pvdv952 and my friend has the 100b if we sync the cams but if i only shoot with the 80 and 952 will those two cams be in sync?

Nope, the "slave" camera has to be able to sync to an incoming TC feed.

So the DVX100B and the HVX200 can "slave" to incoming TC over Firewire, so they can "jam sync" to other cameras .. but they can't control those camera's timecodes.
