Tilta Rig Base Plate: How to order?

http://www.cinegearpro.com/

Has anyone tried their pro follow focus? Does it perform as nice as it looks?
Please comment...

It looks very similar to the Lanparte FF I purchased a few months ago - nearly identical in fact. I can say that the one I have is smooth and works well, but is a bit heavy. Not terrible, but much heavier than Zacuto/O Connor/Arri Stuff. The quick release is nice.

The Team Tilta website has it on sale for $320 shipped until 11:59pm this evening - $100 discount. I can send you an invite to the site if you'd like.

Folks,

When looking now more exactly at the baseplate a question came up:
How do u guys add a cage or a top handle?
In my case I want to use a top handle but would love to get the lanparte c-cage which is more versatile and saves a lot of weight compared to the heavy looking cage building by Tilta. But the problem is the lanparte cage needs rods, which will force me to place the cage exactly in front of the baseplate and that gives me some worries of how to center my top handle so it is balances the rig correctly when carrying.

Mhhhh....

ps: wrote Huang about 2 days ago - no reply.

i would say that u dont really need a cage with af100 with a regular lens..... , i used it with sigma 70-200 not problems.....had no needs in cage...... but still tilta comes with 2 front and 2 rear rails so u can attach lanparte cage.

also tilta has its own cage, but as i understood it attaches to the base plate its self, not to rods.

anyway tilta is the right chose for the rig!

sorry, I didn#t really see this was originally posted in the AF board!
I plan to use it with a DSLR or mabe a Blackmagic, once released. So I def. need a handle.

and:
I would also love to know if the v-mount battery solution by Tilta can actually also charge the v-battery, like the Lanparte plate does?
Anybody knows?

thx!

I don't think Tilta makes a V Mount battery plate. Please correct me if I'm wrong with a link, but I can't find one.

Also, one advantage I see in having a cage / handle even with a AF100 is now all the weight is on the rig. If you use the build in handle of the AF100 all the weight of the accessories is pulling down from the camera's tripod screws. A standard 1/4" screw can probably hold 10-20lbs+, but I'd feel more comfortable having that strain not on the camera.

tilta has 2 v plates, 1 is simple , 2nd is more advanced with hdmi splitter and pro power connections....

i dont know what is your problem to contact her, i spoke to her often, had no problems with communication! anyway i believe i already gave you her skype - she is often there ... huang.changsha , few time a week she is online on skype for several hours!

Hi, you can try beltal.com. I once bought things in it, products are quite large number. they accept PayPal and shipping to worldwide. hope it can help you

Is there a way to see these items in Los angeles?
The baseplate seems to be 15mm but I cannot find much information about size, screw positions etc...

Hey Mac, I just ordered the complete "runner rig", and I'm local here in L.A.. They confirmed that it'll be shipped today and here by Saturday for a shoot I have on Sunday-Wednesday. After that I'd be happy to meet up with you so you can check it out, or at the very least I'll be doing a review on the system. I'll also PM you an "invite" for their site tonight...

cheers

I want to put 19mm rods out he back of this baseplate. I am hoping to this using RED's universal mount (19mm) Does the back part of the Tilta come off? What is the distance between the holes where the back is attached and are they 1/4 20?

Anybody

Back piece can come off. The "bridge" that connects the back piece to the main piece is 40mm wide & 71mm long.

The screws on the 15mm rod attachment are 29mm apart. There are three sets of these for different heights.

The screws are not 1/4" 20, not sure what, but smaller width & tighter threads than 1/4" 20.

If the 19mm rods don't attach directly, I'm guessing it would be a simple DIY thing to make something work.

Hope that helps.

(Just quick photos w/ my phone. The one of the belly, you have to take the shoulder pad off first to get to that view.)
