THRILLfest Official Rules

I'm in...script written ready to film. I had a great script for west fest but went with a producer who couldn't get it done. This time, I'm a little more picky.

Hope it goes better for you this time Justin. I have a couple of scripts I like, but nothing burning me to get made. Life is busy too, I don' t think I'll make this one. Come winter fest time, I will definitely be in again.

Is watching the film with cast and crew when it's done considered a public showing?

as long as it's not freely available for anyone to see, you're fine. if you're going to put it online for cast and crew to screen it, password protect it or self-host it in a secret directory.

Thanks. I just wanted to invite the cast and crew over to watch it at my house together when it's done.

To enter thrillFest all you have to do is submit a short starting on Oct 10th? No registering is involved?

Film and a poster... that's it! As long as you followed the rules in the first post.

DVXuser has set August 7th, 2010 - October 21st, 2010 as the designated shooting dates for all THRILLFest films.
Films MUST be made between this time. Deadline for entries is October 21st, 2010 at 4pm Pacific Daylight Time (GMT - 7)

Welcome to the fest!

Shoot the film between the posted dates, attach a required leader, make sure it doesn't go over the runtime, submit a poster.... yup... I think that's pretty much it...

Just read the rules and follow the guidelines. Submission is easy. When you upload your film, you'll also provide your name, and address for possible prize fulfillment... If your film meets the posted guidelines, it will be accepted for competition and public viewing...

Ah. I shot a film for Chiller TV, but part of the submission process was to upload it to Youtube. I would really like to enter it in the contest for showing even if it's not eligible for a prize.

Who can I speak to to see if I can get it as part of the show?

Whilst the fest is pointed at being inclusive as possible, for entry the piece needs to be shot for thrillfest between the allocated dates. There are of course where a non compete entry is allowed, so I suggest send a private message to Larry Rutledge or Brandon Rice to confirm. I wont make a decision on this here as a/ Im entering and could be construed as having an ulterior motive and b/ probably needs a little discussion anyway.

Cheers

Noel

just making sure I'm not missing something. the rules says upload info for thrillfest films will be made available on the 10th? but I don't see it anywhere. I know you are going thru a revamping of the site, I'm just making sure I'm not missing it somewhere. thanks

I have a TV in my movie for a few seconds, could it play images of a video that were not shot in the timeframe for this project?

thanks
