i have the HVX and have only worked with DVCPROHD files by using the firestore. im getting rid of the firestore because better availability of 32GB P2 cards and I just personally didnt like the firestore workflow(cables coming loose, sometimes id be shooting with the firestore set at 720Pn at 24 and somehow it would switch back to 720P and I would have mixed clips of native and ones with pulldown.)
anyway another thing i didnt like is that because it is a FAT32 formatted, clips would get broken into new ones once they hit the 2GB limit. this just annoyed me when taking the clips into avid because I would have to assemble them on a sequence and then edit from the sequence as my source
so since I have never worked with P2 cards and am about to, do the P2 cards breakup the clips like the firestore does or will I have one clip from the start of recording until the end of recording, even if the file size is bigger than 2GB on the P2 card? i hope that the P2 cards keep the clips as a whole.
