What would be the characteristics of a faulty lens when using it for video? or is there such a thing?

in relation to what is talked about in the article, small errors when mounting the glass elements that form the lens, which cause certain areas to be softer than they should (like "left side softer than right side" and things like that)

it seems to me you'd have to pixel peep really really hard to find this kind of issues, but i've always carried out my resolution tests with only "center" and "top left corner" observations, so I can't know
