if you know something better please post it so we can try it out

i record some 60i footage
put it in a regular dv-ntsc 48khz timeline make two video tracks of the exact same clip and sync them up at the begining (this helps if you have snapping on) then on the lower clip i use a de-interlace filter and change the preset to lower odd on the filter controls, and on the upper clip you change the opacity to about 30(you can play around with this one) now this should give you the look of progressive video and now you can start to slow it down i try not to use anything under 50% because the smoothness starts to go away and you get that strobing trail. i find this to work much better than slowing down 24p or 30p id also like to see how other people are doing this because not all of us are lucky enough to have the hvx200=]

i've stuck with using the tried and true 25, 40, 50 and 75 % slow mo on premiere because it always gets jumpy if its not within this range...mind u thats version 1.5 and lower.....on the other hand you could always cop a copy of Twixtor for the best slow mo you'll ever know.

if you record some video interlaced and dump it onto your computer in the normal fashion, then take that piece of interlaced video and open up a progressive timelime (60i footage imported into 30p workspace) and import that footage, then change the playback speed of the video to 50% and enable the de-interlace setting. This makes for some very nice looking and smooth slow-motion video like you captured at 60fps. The only downfall is you loose some resolution but I haven't found this to be a noticeable problem as yet.. :)
