GH2 This is dust on the sensor, right?

From what I can find this is probably dust, but just wanted a second opinion before getting a cleaning kit. Don't see anything on the sensor though. Just recently noticed some dark spots in some sky shots, so shot the computer screen at f22 and this is what I got.

Edit: OK, using a small flashlight I can see the dust spots now. Does anyone have experience with Lenspen's sensor cleaning kit? http://www.lenspen.com/?resultType=category&params=45&tpid=0&tpid=323 I use their lens cleaner all the time.

Yep does look like it.

Let us know how it goes. When I get dust on my GH2 sensor (hasn't happened yet, but I know it will) I'm going to a camera store to let them clean it. I'm too much of a wimp to attempt it on my own. ;)

The closest Authorized service center according to Panasonic's site is in Texas which is a long ways from me. There are local places that will do it but not for free yet. United Camera quotes for $47. I was just thinking that this could be something that I may need to do in the field so might as well get a kit and learn to do it. It makes me a little nervous, but so did hacking it and now that is routine. It may come down to time as I may have a shoot in the next day or so.

I bought a basic sensor cleaning kit and cleaned up my sensor which had gotten a large wet spit spot when someone tried blowing the dust out of the centre. It cleaned up fine and there were no issues. As long as you use caution and common sense there's no reason you can't do it yourself. If it was a 30k camera, maybe not, but it's not.

To me it looks like there is protective glass before in front of the sensor?

Yeah, there is a plastic or glass sheet over the actual sensor. That's what you are cleaning. The risk is you scratch or damage it and have to have a new sensor put in anyways. I ordered some sensor cleaning fluid and swabs from Photographic Solutions. It looks like they are highly recommended everywhere. Expensive, but the same for a shop to clean it and this way I'll have the stuff if I need it in the future. It should come in today. I'll clean it this weekend and report back.

I just cleaned the dust off a sensor today and found this thread. I have a compressor with an inline water trap (very important) so I get dry air. I then used a paint gun and adjusted the fan to blow a thin high pressure line. The dust came out on one puff pass. Warning never do this indoors, and never blow high pressure air directly and closely at the sensor. If the air jet picked up some air dust it could pit the sensor or blow the screen out I imagine.
