if I could shoot as half as good as you id be a happy man, the photography, angles of shots, colouring, editing and 70% of the content was really spectacular, really amazing work, loved it :)

the cinematography doesn't make sense. the chasing hand held shots are POV but the actor is not looking at the camera, then the objective reverse is hand held when it would make more sense static.

Chris, this is amazing. I'm gonna respond to this on vimeo. . . I envy you getting to work with Craig Owens. Major props!!!!

Good thing filmmaking is subjective.

Great Stuff.

Great Stuff.

I can't say I'm a fan of the music genre or horror films etc...

Never the less even a 45 year DP/Editor {An Old Man for the Kids who listen to it} like me can see the talent it took to shoot and edit this video. I thought you did a very nice job mixing the short film with the music video. Great story telling, it took a bit long to get to the music for me personally but again fantastic work.

Great lighting, grading etc....Fantastic !

hey everyone! thanks so much for the comments and feedback! i set this sucker to notify me when someone leaves a comment but i haven't received a single email, so I apologize on the delayed response...

Actually... it's never his POV... it's always behind him during those chaotic handheld shots... you can see him in all the shots...

wow. truly impressive. can you please state what lighting kit(s) you used on the video(s)? thank you

hey buddy... for the downtown la scenes it was all natural light... for the babysitter scene it was a couple arri 1ks... for the interrogation scene it was one light bulb... for the scenes in the motel room it was china balls and a couple arri 1ks... for the desert it was a china ball and car headlights... for the music video performance it was a 1k behind the bed and a ring light in front of him...

**********

Again... super thanks to you guys for digging it... really appreciate it! I had awesome people working with me, too... so mad kudos to them for sure...

Can't wait to show you the next project I've been working on... I'm really stoked on it...

What lenses and rig? As always man, GREAT WORK.

Hey buddy... Thanks!

I used my Canon 24-70mm 2.8L for almost the entire thing. And if I wasn't using that, I had on the Canon Fisheye 15mm 2.8. The entire performance sequence was with the Fisheye, for example.

Didn't use a rig. Just simply had the camera and a lens.

Oh wow! I didn't expect to see this here. Great job! I was wondering what they were up to. I used to sing for a band, with the bassist from From First to Last, whose guitarist/singer is in this band (Matt Good). I'd like to know what sort of lighting went into this, and where the heck did you find these locations?

hey dude... fairly simple light up... downtown was all natural light... babysitter scene was a couple of 1ks and a couple of kinos... the interrogation scene was one 600w bulb... the motel room was 2 600w china balls and a couple of 1ks... the desert was car headlights and a 1k china ball... the solo performance was a ring light and a 1k behind the bed...

Wow! Quite a departure from Two Dicks! haha... two things I'm curious about... budget? and set dressing in the bedroom scenes, specifically the Fincher-esque walls... actually can you also describe the lighting layout for the in car driving?

That was incredible man. You are ridiculously talented!

Kegan

thanks kegan! much appreciated, buddy... glad ya dug it...

haha... yes it is definitely quite the departure from Two Dicks... ha... not at liberty to discuss the label's budget, but it was under $25k... the walls were painted with water color and applied in a really cool way to give that ****ed up creepy look... my buddy jeff schiefelbein did the production design... he's good stuff... for the in car driving there was no lighting whatsoever... just the fading sun...

hey Chris I havent seen you post it here as yet but "Howlin for you" is SSIIIICCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!! i LUV it. Hope you get an award for that. PLS tell me you have some BTS from that (I watch all the bts you had up on your site..cant find them anymore though). Did you shoot on RED for that? you are truly talented.

Hi, great work! Looks really good.

Only thing that sucks is the damn rolling shutter. Using a high shutter with those handheld shots just made it look way wobbly. The shots were stuff that you could've done with a camera without a rolling shutter and gotten better and consistent shaking. Especially loving some of the roughness of the shots but the wobble is not good.

But otherwise great stuff!
