Thinking about upgrading to HD; a few questions

What kind of interlacing artifacts? What's the frame rate of your timeline? Are you doing pulldown removal?

my timeline is 29.97, and I'm shooting standard 24p. I get the same interlaced lines that one would see on non-deinterlaced 60i footage. Is this not supposed to happen? I assumed it was inevitable since I'm shooting on miniDV, hence my contempt for 24p over 60i...

So if I use Cinema Tools to do inverse telecine to my 24p over 60i footage, then they will be true 24p? How is this different from shooting 24pA, and isn't 24pA still technically interlaced?
On the DVX pA is 2:3:3:2, p is regular 2:3. I do not have a DVX nor I use FCP. I think Cinema Tools is what people use. Search the forum, there are a lot of threads about pulldown removal.

I suppose pA is automatically treated as 24p by FCP, while you need to use Cinema Tools for p? Not sure about that, I just came across these threads and read them cursory for general info sake.
