Think Tank Bags - A "Testimonial"

Stephen Mick

Totally Usable
Anyone who knows me will tell you…I'm a bag-whore. I've bought, tried and sold more bags than the average human being will own in a lifetime. My bag-lust knows no limits, and even my extremely-tolerant wife has become hostile to the idea of adding any more bags to my collection.

But of all the brands and all the bags out there, one company in particular makes, I think, the best bags of all.

Think Tank Photo.

Now don't get me wrong, Kata bags are great (especially for camcorders), and Pelican cases are my go-to products for high-stress adventure travel. But for domestic, jungle-free, coach-class travel shooting, it's Think Tank all the way.

I recently traded one of my Think Tank shoulder bags for a larger version. After using it on a few trips and shoots, I realized that I had either misplaced the rain cover that comes with the bag, or it was never in the bag in the first place.

So I sent an email to Think Tank customer service asking how I could purchase a replacement rain cover. It didn't take long for them to get back to me. They asked for my address, and they sent out a replacement cover at no cost to me, same day, via Priority Mail.

Now that, my friends, is customer service.

Think Tank was founded by a team of designers and photographers, and it's obvious when you look at their bags that years of experience go into the design of each model.

As great as their products are, the service they offer their customers is even better. Thank you, Think Tank, for taking care of your shooters.

Stephen definitely is a bag-whore. He has enough that I fairly frequently get his hand-me-downs.

I have two of his 'sloppy seconds' sitting in my house as well.... in fact, they house a good amount of his 'sloppy seconds' camera gear.....

(and oddly enough I'm typing this on his old laptop as well)

Ha.
:)

EDITED TO ADD:
For what it's worth - he's dead on though... the Think Tank bags I've used (and have) don't come close to any other case I've used, especially since moving to a DSLR setup.

I've got the Aiport Takeoff and it's awesome. I can fit my entire DSLR kit (sans tripod) and it comes on wheels with a handle but also has padded straps to carry it as a backpack.

I think I'm in a good place with bags right now.

At least until the Kata backpack I bought off of Rahn arrives next week. :D

No joke! I tote my HVX around in a Pelican case and in certain situations that's a big PITA. Plus I'm gonna need something to carry my 7D around in. I have a backpack coming that might work (contest prize, didn't buy it) but it's not made for cameras so I'm probably gonna have to ghetto-rig some padding.
