there's no point to an autofocus lense on the T2i right?

Hi all,
I'm getting confused here, autofocus lenses won't focus fast enough for video so you have to turn them off right? Plus you want to control your focus anyway.
I saw this really sweet video of night shots in Tokyo and it was shot with an EF 28mm F2.8, which is an autofocus lens, but it must have been turned off right?

Thanks for a clarification

Yeah, autofocus is useless, unless you want to take photos ;)
It's not useless. Unlike the other Canons, the T2i can autofocus while recording. But it's slow and probably not very accurate. It can be used if absolutely necessary, but it's too limited for general or regular use.

Yeah it's only good for stills.

Infact, the kit lenses for the T2i (18-55, 55-250 etc) are REALLY NOISEY and SLOW :)

Sounds like a computer fan is whirring, even when you turn off AF and IS. But pretty funny though.
