Hello,
I am consulting on a feature film that will be screened at Sundance and will (hopefully) be sold theatrically. What is the best method for shooting with a film-out in mind for the future, but with an HD projection for film festivals? I was thinking 720pn, since this translates more directly to the 24 film frames than it would with the extra pulldown frames. However, how difficult is the native 24 frames to transfer to tape- say HDCam or D5? What would this transfer require? Just a deck rental or a more complicated setup?
Also, is audio recorded any differently when shooting in native 24 frames?
I would really appreciate any help one could give- or perhaps you could point me to a good discussion of theatrical feature film workflow.
Thanks all!
