The Walking Dead - Frank Darabont's Zombie Show on AMC!

I wouldn't call it a train wreck. It's an okay show that has flashes of greatness, but I still think it's worth watching. It's on basic cable after all.

Spoiler-y:

I'm glad this weeks episode took the turn it did. They drag things out too long on this show sometimes, and it was time to carry on. The little girl was missing for half a season, and I was thinking that kid was going to be locked up and debated over for the other half.

Also: Do people just become reanimated after they die, now? That's stupid.

haters gonna hate

I love this. re:s02e12 - I didn't think they could one up 'the moment' (fans of the comic know what I mean) but Robert Kirkman did it.

They set it up a few episodes back. Rick was looking at those two cop zombie corpses and said neither had marks on them. Not having read the books, my guess is that the survivors are or have become immune to the zombie virus so long as they are alive. Soon as they die, the virus takes over. Also explains why they can be splattered with zombie blood and guts all the time and not get infected.

But they also said that just a scratch can change you into a zombie. If the scratch isn't fatal, then how are they changing over to the undead?

you'll see !

they touched on this already in the comic (in the prison, the two dead girl children). They also brought it up in the TV series - remember when they first were going to drop off Randal they killed two cop zombies then looked at the bodies and said "strange no bite marks"

I'm saying some are immune...some aren't. The just a scratch theory doesn't hold for me, as the amount of bloody close contact fighting a lot of them have had with the zombies would have surely infected several more of the group. They are most likely all infected at this point, they just have a natural immunity that keeps it at bay. Maybe many have died from zombie bites and scratches just because zombies are walking buckets of disease in the first place, so you can die from any number of illnesses. Then you come back.

I love this show. I wonder where the internal conflict will come from now that the diametrically opposed character/conscience is gone and the primary alpha male tension has been resolved.

The idea of being reanimated after death was shocking but..... ACTUALLY PURE GENIUS. Talk about raising the stakes. My theory on that is the virus lies dormant in your system til you die, then activates. From now on, pre-funeral decapitations are the order of the day.

This show has gone beyond what has been accomplished so far in zombie cinema. TV as a medium is truly superior as far as character development and fleshed out big ideas go.

I can't imagine what they can do next season.

It's as if the whole world got infected by some virus, or as I look at it some part of our DNA hits a sort of self destruct point and turns on the Zombie gene when the world is near overpopulation.

potential spoiler:

some people have said the scratches comment was an excuse made by rick(though I'm not sure rick said it) to cover the fact he knows they are all infected because that is what cdc guy told him before he died.

oh and this show/comic is real(or at least this is how I see it) so you have times where people make really dumb decisions or outright act way out of character because lets face it they are in a real messed up situation and that tends to effect the way people think and act.

and if you haven't read the comics start because it's getting real good again... and the trade paperbacks are very affordable and an easy way to get into the series.

Agreed... excellent! I can't wait to see where this goes with that prison. What a great place to start a new community inside...protected.
...and what will that helicopter bring?

The only thing I hate about TV (beside the endless commercial breaks) is the waiting!

Great season finale, glad all the negative Nancy's left the thread. Their loss I suppose. Can't wait until season 3!
