The Walking Dead - Frank Darabont's Zombie Show on AMC!

Interesting they'd go there (28 Days Later)

But really, it looks solid. And my personal wet dream. I mean, the one after the one with Naomi Watts and Michelle Pfeiffer at the same time.

Looks expensive.

AMC, I am putting you on notice right now. If you cancel Breaking Bad to pay for this pile of bullsh&^%t, there will be some hurt laid down upon y'all.

I've been a huge fan of the comics and it's such a good story line. It's more about the characters and how they deal with each other and the zombies are more of a background.

Give it a chance :)

No. I have a new rule. If it has zombies or vampires, I don't care how good it is. I don't watch.

I agree Zombies have been 'done to death' (nice pun) in film, but a long form series has the potential to mine the genre more deeply and in a way not seen before.

I hate that they ripped off the opening, unless the graphic novel opened this way and it predates 28 Days.

Looks interesting though.
I'm with Mark, especially concerning Vampires. That **** is OLD.

Still, the teaser looks interesting.

I'd be there with you, if there was ANYTHING in the trailer that made me think that was going to be the case.

I think it was a coincidence. 28 Days Later came out November 2002 in the UK and released all over the world throughout 2003. Walking Dead was published mid 2003. Knowing how slow publishing works, they probably already had it done and proofed by the time the movie was out and it would have been too costly to change. Doesn't excuse the makers of the show for not rewriting though.

Kirkman did an interview with GQ Magazine recently. He mentioned a tiny bit in the article that he began work before the 28 Days Later movie.

He is a really good story teller and is considered comic book gold in that industry. I've met him, he is a cool and funny guy. Hope is works out for him on teevee. Note, I am a happy biased fan that buys his books.

Nothing is old; Vamps or Zombies. It's how it's done.

I do trip on True Boold though; As much as I like it, I've been loving the Undead since I was a child. Now it's hip.

Exactly. Twilight did the whole vampire love story thing terribly. But Let The Right One In, on the other hand, is amazing.

And yeah, I've loved zombies since I was a child (especially Return of the Living Dead and the Thriller music video) now it's mainstream. Oh well, I'll always love those flesh-eating ghouls regardless.

I'm not sure how a trailer could communicate that. The advantages of long form to me have to do with length, the amount of time you have to tell a story that's potentially richer than a film can be. That said, I found out it's only a 6 episode limited series, which is less interesting to me. Perhaps they are just testing the waters to see if they will bring it to series.

They've been shooting this locally (in Atlanta) and quite a few of my friends have been working on it (FX dept, acting, etc.) I think it looks pretty good. I wasn't big on zombies in my younger days but they've grown on me. It looks entertaining and the idea of it taking place in the city where I reside intrigues me. I'll give it a chance.

I agree about vampires and especially zombies.
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN works because it's so far away from anything else in the genre and the novel is one of the absolute best books you can imagine. The film is only about a third of the actual story, so it's the absolutely most important part of a really great source material.

This is TV and it's Zombies. Those are two of the most mainstream things there are out there sans lady gaga and zac efron. Is zac still around or is it justin bieber this year? Aw who cares?

The only thing that would make me watch an episode is Frank Darabont.
