The Untouchables

The Godfather was the end of his career (As was Apacalypse Now.)

Anyways. This isn't about Brando (although funny point). You don't like Costner. Cool. That is your opinion. But, the facts are what they are and it seems many would disagree with you.

I love Costner. This is merely my opinion.

I can respect that. I don't agree with it, but I respect it.

Your challenge to explain why I didn't like Costner made me think seriously about it. And that's a good thing. It didn't change my feeling about him but at least now I have a better understanding why I feel that way I do, instead of just some vague feeling like: "Don't like him, don't know why, just don't" :)

Just as yours is yours. This does nothing to add to the topic at all.

EDIT: Thought I would make mine as artistic as yours. <3

Oh yes it does.

That was a polite way of me telling you your use of facts and the method in which you choose to make examples seem skewed to serve your point. You seem to negate the real jist.

You're making an argument that 2 + 2 = 3. I suppose it does if you omit 1.

Again, you don't like him. Rock on, I can dig it. I don't like Brad Pitt (I am in the minority on that)

(Using advanced editing is fun, isn't it?)

Thanks Blaine

I agree; simply stating 'he's a lamer' or 'his films suck' doesn't do us any justice in the forum. I like trying to find quantative measures in which to base our opinions and arguments. (And that includes all of the facts, not just the ones that serve our side of the coin.)

Now age matters, along with money and oscars won for direction?

John I will cut you!!!!!!!!!

GOSH! Why the heck do why have to argue about a completely subjective thing... I'll agree that Costner has raked in plenty of green and has had many succesful movies... I'm not a fan, John is... great... can't we all just get along?

We're not arguing ! Just exchanging our passions (In a non-gay way)

I would agree it's not an argument as you're stating your subjective opinions... I just think it's silly... as the other dude is calling Costner a loser... if he doesn't like him, fine, but don't call the guy a loser.

A loser? Actually as a person I respect Costner, as he states his goal is to make movies for the people paying for the tickets, not for the critics. Take what he says any way he you want.

I think for a man with the clout he had during the early 90s, he made some pretty bad mistakes, as I said he could have picked up some great roles without a problem, but instead he picked his roles for the people paying for the tickets. Kind of a Catch-22 on my part, love his goal, hate the end product.

As for people thinking this is going to turn into a heated cat fight or whatever, you need not worry. I never take anything personally, especially when it comes to opinions.

As much as Hudson and I may disagree about Costner, I am sure we have very similar tastes in many of our favourite movies and actors from reading his other posts.

Unless he likes Boondock Saints or Sam Jackson.

Aw, ****. Here we go again. What's wrong with Sam? There's not too many out there cooler than Jules.
