The Undead Nation

Re: The Undead Nation

I agree Arcburn; good idea. Damn, its getting overwhelming all of a sudden. What do you think of the font in my sig?

Re: The Undead Nation

Don't get overwhelmed John. Delegate. There are plenty of talented folks on this board that are willing to help you out with whatever you need. People are amped about this project. You just need to be the captain and steer the ship, others can raise the sail and swap the decks ( strange that i use a nautical analogy as I don't know the slightest thing about sailing. :P )
For the timeline thing, maybe think of it as the world news. You tell everyone the main events. Plague begins here this date, sub humans herded in camps on that date, etc (and by date, you don't have to put a specific date if you dont want, you can put Outbreak + 3, or Year One or even something like 0001 AE (After Outbreak), whatever you set as the "rules" we will follow). Once we have the main events, thing of the rest of us kind of like local news reporters, we are telling the stories in our areas, there may be crossovers with the big events, there may not. Hope this helps and i am not overstepping my bounds. It's your idea, I just want to come and play in your yard.
As for the font, for me it's not coming across as hard enough, not sure why. It's hard to analyse. Maybe it is the no caps thing. Can you do a version with captials and an all caps version?
Hope im helping somehow. ???

Re: The Undead Nation

Dude

You are so helping; serious. Thank you. Ill need it. Dont even be shy about stepping in. Those are valid points. Expect by this weeknd for the frules timeline to be established.

And a call to all dead brothers and sisters...

If you want to contribute beyond an episode speak up!

Re: The Undead Nation

I like Monte's (and Arcburn's) idea of dating the episodes in some way. Since they will be out of order it would really help. For example the one I'm working on takes place a few days after the outbreak, but the episode before mine may have taken place a month after the outbreak.

I don't think it would hurt to require placing some form of date at the beginning.

Re: The Undead Nation

I agree. Done deal.

There should be a mandatory DATE/TIME STAMP upon opening shot. All films will take place either from Day of or days/years after......

Re: The Undead Nation

i always imagined the episodes literally on a timeline. u click the episode and it goes to its own page with cast and crew info a short description, etc, from there u click to down load unless we can work out some kind of viewer window which would be cool.

yes, there great web ppl here and im sure someone is willing to help.

The idea of a dvd sounds great, but as soon as money come into the equation this could get sketchy, I think we should agree right now theres not money to be made, no dvds, everyone keeps the rights to their characters and stories.

If down the road John u decided to try to make some sort of dvd, when we can all decuss whats the best way to handle expenses and profits. I think right now worrying about that stuff will inhibit creativity and hamper which eps get made

Re: The Undead Nation

Remember this phrase:

2005

"Wretched, terrible, destructive year, the remnants of the people alone remain."

Re: The Undead Nation

ALRIGHT

Spread the news guys; we need graphic designer tpyes who can design and contribute photos and such for the webpage' photos of cities in ruins enhanced with zombies, riots, etc etc etc

We need a logo designer, everything.

No pay; its for the love of the dead.

Re: The Undead Nation

John, I'm going out this evening to cap some photos of my town to use as a basis for matte paintings in my episode. I can upload them when finished. Gonna paint them up with all kinds of destruction and debris :)

Re: The Undead Nation

John,

Did you take down the blog? I don't see it in your signature anymore...

Re: The Undead Nation

Ok... Even though I don't own a DVX or an XL2, I have access to both, and this is just too damn cool not to be a part of it. Count me in for something!

Now I just need to find that zombie script that my friend and I wrote last year.... ;D

Thought it was time to get this corpse up and walking again. What's the latest John? Has a bullet torn through the brain of this idea? I hope not. I have been really excited for this since the first idea was brought up.

Since I pop a boner for any zombie movie, well, almost every zombie movie (Zombie Lake, ugg!) I would like to contribute to this. I've been stocking up on hardware so I believe I'm am ready to put something together. I've also been juggling several ideas around.

So, I will be grateful to lend a helping hand for anything, if needed, for this project.
