The Undead Nation

Re: The Undead

Undead Nation is a winner!!! Get it!!

Plus just think of all the plays off of "UN" we can work in.

Re: The Undead

John, do you still remember the Haitian undead govt overthrow idea I sent you several months ago? That would make a super fine feature length to do after you've done several of the series and can find a budget to pull it off...sort of like the show Firefly...come out with several shows and then kick it up a few levels with a big feature. I thought it was one of the most original zombie movie ideas I'd seen. I got the intial idea from a Weekly World News article.

Im not personaly into zombie material, but I think you've definately got a good idea going, and I too will throw in a vote for Undead Nation.

Re: The Undead

Undead Nation it is! :D

D.W. - I do remember this!

If I have my way, this will take off and then I'll create the first Undead television show (on FOX no doubt). ;D

Re: The Undead

Do you have an idea how will this process work John? I'm assuming as it is your baby you ultimately control the destiny of this world. So as us other eager zombie makers want to make episodes, would we send you script ideas and then we do some collaboration with you?

Re: The Undead

Re: The Undead

Well, it is going to develop hopefully fairly quickly. We have to nail down the rules of the world (i.e. the secondary vamp undead might be tricky) and the backstory and the evolution of the wolrd. When did it start?

I dont want the audience to ever know the exact way it started; but almost like a bubonic plague in medieval times; we know people are getting sick, we know the dead get back up but we dont know why.

I'm not syaing the agencies like the CDC are not going to be trying to figure it out; but I want it to be so overwhelming and fast that the common man never really knows what hits them.

I would like to keep YOUR scripts to your vision. I would like to 'look at them' but only to ensure they stay in the same world and dont violate it. As far as freedom goes though: ITs your story. As long as it takes place in the world.

I'm making the decision on the final name today (although I think undead nation is definatley it 99.999% :D ) and wil lregsiter.

A site needs to be designed and made for the hype. (something Im not terribly good at :/ )

We shoot this weekend a test episode (more working out the design and style of what we are trying to achieve).

BUt, your contributions are YOURS. Your peotic license; just keep it in the world that we create.

Re: The Undead

Sounds like an excellent venture. Can't wait.
My first script is about Zombies made of Jello (that fits your rules right?). I'll be sending it to you soon. ;)

Re: The Undead

I think length can be as short and as long as you wish. What do you think?

I mean, if you go all out and turn in some 20 minute epic (in short film world at least) then all the better!

Sounds exactly like what I wanted to do all along ;) :D

John, if you need web consulting, I'm here for you. My specialty is PHP interfacing with MySQL databases. Maybe someone can write copy, others create graphics, etc. You know, assembly line concept...

Re: The Undead

Re: The Undead

i know i'm asking a lot of questions. feel free to tell me to shut up. But some things to think about? Can it pass the species barrier. i.e. Zombie animals. Dogs, cats, etc. And if it doesn't do the zombies ignore animals. I always thought it was odd in DOTD 04 that a zombie didnt at least take a chunk out of the dog, just to see what he tasted like.

Re: The Undead

I just thought. Another cool thing with all the contributers being in different locations, the episodes will really have a feel like the zombies have taken over the whole country, maybe the world if some of the DVX crew from abroad do some eps.

That was, indeed, bad ass!

That is going to be cool. We might see some zombies in the snow up here.
