SHORT: The Tumbleweed Holocaust-Western short film

I really dug the trailer. Seems to have all the elements that I like in a movie. I plan to watch the finished film after I get home. In reference to your use of GYBE's music....that song may not be the best pick for the reasons mentioned already, but they have tons of great and quite similar music that might work just as good.

I watched the first cut, and the trimmed one. I liked the first cut much more. The music was good. The dialog was a bit off, but not terrible. Personally, I would have taken the bar scene out and left the rest the way it was...perhaps re-cutting the opening sequence into something that made a little bit more sense in the overall scope of the story. The other thing that kind of irked me was that you had such a great location but didn't use it to it's fullest. I might have painted up some old looking road signs or something to turn the junkyard into a sort of "last rush hour"....also.... in the end when the people in hats get taken down you can clearly see highway traffic in the background which really broke the illusion for me.

Overall, very good job. I look forward to your future efforts.

Thanks Justin! About not using the location to it's fullest potential... well, the entire short was zero budget and that location could only be used for one day over a 6 hour span so there wasn't a way to make it a "set" we were only allowed in one other time to see if we wanted to use it and that was it. Thanks for watching both cuts and I agree the bar scene is too much, but i had close friends in the scene that wanted to see themselves. I need an editor with no attachment to the cast ;) lol

No worries man, it's your movie after all. The bar scene could have worked if there was more of a narrative fleshed out...I think anyway. It just seemed to stop the action. I totally get the friend thing though.

When is the next one coming out?

The next project I'm working on is very different in tone then any of my previous work. It is a series of 5 minute comedy shorts about an insane director and owner of a Television company that takes part in an one very insane universe. filled with hot babes, huge cigars, corpses, babies, biker gangs, rundown trailer parks, females giving birth on a theater stage and on and on. My friends and I all have an insane sense of humor we have yet to express in film and it's what comes natural to me so I wanna see how it will transfer to the screen. i also have made lots of connection with the local theater group for this project. I post the first one when finished ;) Thanks for the input on Tumbleweed!
