An adaptation of the story.

Let me know.

An aside: I don't like the soundtrack..i did it, but If I had more time, i'd find someone who can actually make music. I may end up redoing it, but time constraints for class called for it.

The music wasn't as bad as you think... reminiscent of the Juno soundtrack. But it did get a bit repetitive. The layering on the music for The Tortoise was a little more complex and kept it from getting as stale as quickly... but on both, I'd have gone with more than just two chords. Add a bridge, add a refrain. Just do something to break it up a little. The feel of it was great.

I'm not a huge fan of the contrast you pushed with the black and white. It started to posterize, and screamed "bad 80's music video" to me.

And the ending was not very clear. If I hadn't read the synopsis first, I wouldn't have figured out what was going on. The actors just didn't portray a very clear "aha!" moment for The Hare... there was no clear moment of realization/reconciliation. She almost seemed to hug him just to apologize and move on... the look on her face said that she was used to being berated and was willing to live with it.

After reading your response on the "aha" moment, that was a flaw I think in my directing of the actors and in watching it again I agree. Not to make excuses but I was slightly bitter about the project before it was done (issue with my professor). I know I should be willing to try to take something I may not be excited about and make it worth while so I did learn from that.

But back to the ending. What I initially wanted to do was have her hug him and have him continue to yell and she just squeezes tightening until he falls out of his rage and accepts the hug. The idea was for her love to say " just relax and live" sorta thing ( mentioned in the synopsis). I never really made that clear and just sorta took what they gave me (the actors).

On the music note, I'm glad you didn't think it was as bad as I did. I have trouble making music myself...I can come up with some stuff, but I just don't know enough about it to think of things that sound good together. I had a general idea (which is what I did) but its just not my thing. I also find it frustrating because I feel as though the time I spend on music doesn't produce the results to make it worthwhile.

On the black and white. I had to emphasize color in this video as part of the criteria and I didn't want to just do desaturation so I experimented with somethings. Another weak point for me is color manipulation and correction.

Thanks for the feedback.

Agree totally with C2V...his critique is spot on, especially with regards to music and plot line.
