Ok, searched this and got half-hearted answers...

The question is simple, the answer is probably not.

What are the opinions out there regarding the GH1 on a theater sized screen. Silly? Unwatchable? Too compressed? Has anyone done it? Considering that the DVX100 was considered "good enough" for theaters by many... (And many others thought it was WAY too soft. My opinion was that it was too soft, but not to the point where it was unwatchable)

Any thoughts are greatly welcome. (Obviously this is all opinion and speculation, I'm just curious if there is a census yet.)

Of course, it depends on the amount of knowledge, ability, creativity, professional skills and determination of the cinematographer and crew involved. Just because somebody is able to afford a camera doesn't mean anything in this business.
 
I've edited a bunch of videos for really big screens with DV quality and looking at how it turns out I guess the GH1's 1080/720p res will work just fine on the big screen.
