1. All films must aim for 5 minutes. 6 minutes is the max. Deliverables must be 16:9 or 2:35... anamorphic.

2. All films must be shot on either the DVX or the HVX to be eligible for prizes. Other cameras are welcome for demonstration.

3. All films must be a "R" or lower. Our "R" rating is pretty loose.. and its a hard R.. this is horror.

4. All films will be included on a Horrorfest DVD (hopefully) out Haloween.

5. Contest open to every country.

6. ABSOLUTE deadline is Oct 1st.. this ones for real this time.

7. No entry fee :)

so is 4:3 okay for this fest?

4:3 is fine if you dont care if i chop off the top and bottom of the frames.. asking this though i assume you have a film already you shot in 4:3.. and in that case it doesnt qualify.

all films gotta be in 16:9 or smaller.

Nope ... haven't shot yet! Just a probe question considering it is usually explicitly listed, I'll definitely be submitting 16:9!

might i also suggest that we keep the quicktime h.264 deliverable for voting, IMO they looked a lot better than the previous fests!

yeah that will stay.. even though some people still didnt know what was going on it kept things consistent.

Sqeeze ok for the 16:9? Really want to do this, but this time of year is rough for me, I couldn't start filming until Sept 10......a challenge within a challenge.

I have no doubt that squeeze would be just fine, I'm pretty sure you can shoot however you like (well, anyway in 24p) as long as the file sent to jarred is 16:9.

Is it acceptable if I shoot in 4:3 and then letterbox in post (selecting 1.85:1 as the aspect ratio)?
