The rare dvx100

I was told that I had one of the rare dvx100. Low number 300. From what I have been told only a limited numbers of dvx100 had the NASA chip. The rest of the dvx100 were made with a lower chip quality.

Does anyone know anything about this. By the way this information came from Panasonic. I noticed that my video footage looks more like film.

Thanks for any input,

corine

According to Panasonic the chip that was built for the Dvx100 was designed by NASA so I don't know if these guys were blowing hot air up my dress or what? I also heard from a few others that said the same thing. I think someone at Evs (might be Rush) mentioned it. I have seen others that shot footage and thought that their film look to much like video where mine look more like film and I haven't done anything to the camera except added TIFFEN 4X4 Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter.

So the question is should I believe or go hmmmmmmm :-) Has anyone else heard the same thing?

Yup, I said that, and I have been hearing it from many sources since the cam was first released; I was Beta testing it for them. :)

my DVX100P serial is 00107
do I get to resell it for more than a B?!

dj200423: toss in a psyduck and a raichu and you might have yourself a deal!

I sold my rare DVX100 to get a less rare DVX100A, cuz I just had to have the gain in 24p. Damn me.... :crybaby:

Actually, I've got model number 299 of the rare NASA chip DVX-100. It's got the even more rare XL-1 casing instead of the standard casing. Licensing the Canon name was pretty expensive from what I hear.

Of course I can't use the swing out LCD with the stupid XL-1 casing over it. :(

Tongue firmly in cheek,
Scott

Yes, it has the NASA chip, which is immune to space dust, which is good, because you don't have to take the optical axis out for a clean and a grease every 100 hours. It also has the pink polarising layer on the green CCD which gives that great filmic look, especially when shooting interlaced.
