GH3 The Rainmaker - a cool promo shot on GH3

This is a teaser promo for a play being performed at a local live theatre. Shot on GH3 flat (Natural -5,-5, 0,-5) and then graded with a bleach bypass effect with Magic Bullet Looks. I usually shoot with Contrast set to 0 or -1, but since I knew the Bleach Bypass effect would crush the blacks, I decided to shoot flat. I'm very happy with the results. For the long lens shots, I used an old Olympus mount Sigma 75-300mm f4.5
For the opening shot, I used that lens at 300mm, then used the GH3s Tele function to zoom the image in even more. Threw the shot a bit out of focus and, voila, heatwave mirage effect!

Promo looks great. One minor suggestion, and perhaps you tried it, replace the birds chirping with crows, hawks or condors.

Thanks. Yeah, I thought about it. Funny thing is, the nat sound from the camera is almost exactly like the sound effects I used. I couldn't use the camera audio because of the wind.
So I made a choice to err on the side of realism since the play takes place in the Midwest. But certainly, crows would communicate "arid dustbowl".

Yes, crows would be used more for dramatic effect than realism, as they typically are in these kind of scenarios. Promo does make me want to see the play.
