The offline editing with Canon 7D

How can I edit 7D footage so that I save up on disk space and make the edit faster. Is offline editing after conversion to Apple Progress an option for this... Please give me suggestions for this. 2.0 IronsI'm doing a very long documentary shot on the canon- 7D and I foresee storage will be a problem.

Well the 7Ds footage isn't really big. You could also use a intermediate like Cineform. The files sizes are decent.
