The Official "Next Fest" Idea Submission Thread

FunnyFest - a comedy. Required element: laugh track
ForeignFest - the film is shot in another language (can be a fake language) with subtitles.
NoirFest - always wanted to do a film noir
FightFest - has to include a physical fight of some sort (guns, fists, etc)
RomanceFest - must include a kiss
SilentFest - Required element: no dialogue
ZombieFest - required element: a kitten
PeriodFest - required element: must take place in one (or more I guess) of the following: the middle ages, WW1/2, the 50s/60s/70s...etc.
 
So its round about now that I start wondering what the next fest will be and getting impatient as I want to MAKE A FILM :)
 
Spoof Fest - Take a look at the top 100 all time money making films and spoof one of them with title as part of spoof, like, "Titantic in an alternate Universe" or "Star Wars Empire are the good guys" etc.

We all need a good laugh...

Death-In-A-Minute -- A character must die within the first minute. How will the remaining characters deal with this?
 
Oh gawd, no more deaths please. "My Dolls" is giving me nightmares now as it is! Good flick btw...
 
I am liking the idea of shooting it all on cell phones could be very interesting. Or how about Handi-fest must be shot on a handheld camcorder not a professional model but a consumer grade recorder. This would make it all about the shots and the story.

How abbout "SPY FEST"

@ Ryan - don't watch "Criminal Minds" so I wouldn't know, but that uh, photo of her dolls was eeire.

How about "Memento" fest, tell your story backwards... like it's not hard enough to tell it forward.
 
Limiting a person to shoot on iPhone or camera phone or handycam is not a good idea. Allow filmmakers to use what they have and what they are comfortable with because with these restrictions, you'll have less entries.
 
How about a Music Video challenge?

It might be a lot of fun and we would probably end up with a lot of shorter movies to watch.

Plus we could all hear some new music - which is always cool. :)
 
That's right, Halloween is coming and it's always a slasher/gore fest. I propose we have

"Halloween Spoof Fest"

For the first time instead of making haunting, serious, scary flicks, how about we let the funny in filmmakers go wild on Halloween? It would definitely be a different twist. Everyone dies, no one dies, whatever, just "spoof" any horror film and make it your own.
 
Well, I for one would like to know now if thats the case. I have some ideas for a few shorts I can make if there is not going to be another full fest. But I dont want to start if there will be a full fest announced in a week or so. Thats why it would be nice for the admins to tell us whats happening next at the end of each fest. We can then start to plan our lives for the next 3 months. I would certainly be annoyed if there was no announcement for a month then a 48hr feat was announced, that would be a month of wasted time.
 
Yeah, I'm in Limbo right now. Not sure whether to start on something or wait.

LyricFest - Take a line from one of 3 given songs (by the mods), and have that as a line in your short.
