The official "I got my AF100" thread

I am still waiting for mine from B&H. I placed my order about three weeks ago. I hope mine comes soon!

December 31st is the earliest I have heard that has not received theirs from B&H. Now there could be more that ordered prior to that. But that's the only December order I have seen on this forum still to not receive their camera. Fingers crossed for the early January purchasers, like us! Allegedly the end of this week is when the next shipment comes in...

I ordered and paid for my camera Dec, 30 from B&H and still do not have it yet.

finally got my camera here in ontario canada, very excited to start shooting. a lot of setup to do with this camera though. ill post some pics later on.

I got mine last Friday Jan. 7th. It was actually in by last Tuesday, but Full Compass forgot to call me. I was number 15 on their list. No regrets, I've only had about 4 hours to play with it so far. That said, it's an amazing camera. I used to shoot 16mm and some 35mm (still own a Mitchell Fries 35mm Camera) and the AF100 brings me back to those days. I will be using my Canon FD lenses this weekend.

Sorry I didn't call on that day. I was very sick and unable to get to work on the day the camera happened to arrive. I believe I called you within a couple days after you received it to check that all was well though, yes?

Me too! They told me to expect my call Thursday or Friday.

Things maybe pushed back a day or 2 because NYC is getting hit with another snowstorm, but I do see both of your orders on the list for when the next shipment comes.

To clear up why biginvegas was earlier on the list he actually placed an order inquiry with us on September 29th before we started taking deposits.

Fine folks from Abel emailed me my AF arrived. Deposit made 1st week Dec.

Interesting. I made my deposit on Nov 29th, and I was just told that I won't get a camera from this week's shipment, but that hopefully there will be another shipment next week that cover my order.

got mine about a week and a half ago and am having a good time with it. using the cinevate follow focus (which attaches to only one rod and swings out of the way quickly) and their swingout mattebox has made switching lenses painless on a fast-paced shoot. very happy with those purchases. the camera is a dream and has drawn a curious eye from fellow filmmakers stumbling across us at work here in park city. having a blast with it.

Nice stuff, Zak. Mind if I inquire as to what lenses and ISO were used as well as whether you shot with the AF100 codec or used a nanoflash or Ki pro.

Thanks,

Forrest

All exterior shots were 400 ISO with a 135mm lens. Interiors (Day and Night) were also 400ISO but with a 24mm and an 85mm for the sleeping shot. No external recorder, all AVCCAM codec. added mild grain in post.

Thanks. Once again, well done!

zac, would you happen to have any pics of your setup. for me, my nikon 50 1.4 is short, so the gear box of the durus hits the body, im very close to the gear. even getting the drive gear close to the front of the camera was hard with the baseplate in the way, though thats due to the small size of the camera (i didnt flip the gear, that way it sticks out too much). i talked to the good people at cinevate, very nice and helpful, measured out and the large drive gear and it should reach for shorter lenses to not hit the body (iris dial) so i think ill have my situation fixed. just curious as to how you have it setup. thanks
