"Dead Week" - A film by Kyle Stebbins (and company)

I'm not gonna lie, Mark's version of the story, way better. :P

Anywho....

Sounds like you're having a blast in Washington Kyle. Can't wait till you get back and we start shooting this thing!

Wow! How the hell did I miss my own presence in this thread... Mark TOLD me that PETA was after me and I assumed he was just drunk. Rogue-ster... see... you may not want to be the focus of attention with FM... :)

Funny about the bird thing... check this out... this bird was seeking shelter behind our grip truck on the Macgregor shoot (on the salt flats) and the conditions were so brutal that day that I didn't want to leave him out there in the middle of nowhere in the blowing salt... so before we left I caught him and let him go behind the hotel back in town.

Most animals like me and immediately accept me... people? Mmm... mixed response.

I kept waiting for you to comment, it's about damn time! That is cool about the animals, if only I had been able to instantly accept you that weekend. Oh, well...

Just kidding, you were one of my favorite people from the trip. :)

Gah! I leave and within hours things get interesting back in L.A. Earthquakes, Warner Bros, WTF?! I'm missing all the fun all of a sudden!

Welcome to the club dude! The previous time out they drop me off at the airport and go to the Palisades... then see Indy4 (of course we now know that part sucked)... but hey I'm just sayin'... apparently the moral of the story is to never leave.

The Eagles were right.

Hey guys. Washington has been quite the trip. We made it up to Mt Saint Helen's today. I was just a little ways up I-5 from Shawneous and Teresa's location (Portland).

We visited the beach in Ocean Shore to take pictures of the northwestern Pacific Ocean.

Not sure how Matt will take that picture... =) there were several crabs washed up on the beach.

Here is a picture of all of us together.

My relatives grew up in a house that cost just $25. A long time ago loggers lived in the houses during the season. The house they bought was shipped on a train in two pieces. It's quaint, but their land is huge. We took several pictures of the beautiful scenery and found it quaint and peaceful (toss in some good home cooking, interesting conversation, and delicious shrimp with cocktail sauce).

Below is a picture of my sister standing on the beach.

It was a chilly 60 or so degrees out there, but it was fun to snap some photos and meet the locals.

We spent all day today driving and checking out Mt Saint Helen's. We watched a couple movies on it and the view was breathtaking. If any of you are unfamiliar with the volcano or it's devastating eruption in 1980 then I suggest you check it out. It's simply incredible.

I've taken a lot more pictures but I didn't want to clog the thread with it.

Hope you are all doing well!

To-do list before thursday:

- Visit Bruce Lee and Jimi Hendrix in their final resting place :)
- Possibly take the ferry to Whidbey Island (per my sister's request)
- Space Needle!
... and more ...

Looks like you are having fun! I would love to make it up there some day.

PS: I am hoping the "...and more..." means "Vist the Penguin. Even if he does live EXTREMELY far away."

Dude I love the 3 shots of your sister... watch the water at her feet, and then the appropriate reaction from the chilly water on the toes. It looks like a great time. (fill flash on bright BG though please)

$25 for a house? When I was a kid you could get a house for $21... things are goin' to hell I tell you...

Mt. Saint Helen's is cool... I still easily recognize that blob of land coming out towards us... that was pushed out in the eruption.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) my entire family lives in the STL area... so no fun coastal visits... for now... wink-wink. Maybe one day there will be some family out on the coast.

Kyle, your thread is awesome so far. Nice poster and cool links - storyboards and locations. YOu have a real flare for posters. You got skillz. Good luck.

Thanks, Lee. I appreciate that.

I've really been impressed with everyone's designs this time around. It never ceases to amaze me how talented our dvxuser posse is.

Pix PLEASE!!!!

I took a lot of pictures out there and even made a quick drive by Dean's house. We decided not to stop but definitely wanted to check out his property by driving by. Words can't describe the place... I wish we could've gotten a tour. Maybe you can send me some pictures of the place, Mark?

Whidbey was sunny and packed full of beach patrons. (Definitely not how it seemed from the Vienna video) -- I'll write more about it later and share some photos once we return from going out to eat.

We're staying in Bothel right now at some other relative's place. Verne Giddings (who we are staying with) is a guitar luthier and makes some of the finest guitars I've seen. (I've seen quite a few, as my father is an experienced and decorated guitar player) - We've been discussing a possible business plan where I will handle all of the web and print design for his guitar making. We're talking unique pamphlets shipped with each guitar including pictures and little blurbs written by him describing each step of the process (unique to each build). Anyway, it's all provisional at best.

More later!

Here are some shots from Whidbey Island:

Like I said we made a point to drive by Mr. Petrich's house. My photo does NOT do it justice and I hesitated putting it on here because if you visit his website: http://www.enviroalternatives.com/hh.html

... then you'll see how truly intricate everything is and how COOL it looks. Anyway, this is our secret stalker shot more or less for proof that we were there.

Check out his site. The guy is remarkable.
