The official "I got my AF100" thread

Is it just me or everytime you turn the ND dial it reminds you of the eye doctor:
"Which is better, A....or B, A....or B?"

LOL! Lovin' the camera.

Been in the VO booth since 8am working my tail off and then POW, AF100 delivered!
First thoughts... The battery that shipped with the camera is a 5800mAh, and it is shorter, but weighs more than the physically longer 5800mAh batteries I ordered, which turned out to be 5400mAh. Confused? So is everybody else. The flip-out LCD monitor is sharp, and while not color accurate, at first glance I do not see the problems other have mentioned. Once I have the batteries charged I will release further findings. Guess my wife joins the ranks of AF100 widows this weekend.

i just visited my friend who got his yesterday. a very very nice camera! if i wasn't so invested in my sound gear i'd look into getting one for myself. it is very tempting...
 
question...
for those of you who got your AF-100...does only one Operating Instruction book come with the camera? I seem to have the simple Volume 1 yet there is no Volume 2...
 
Check the CD in your package; it has the manuals. Save the trees, you know.

heck they should have saved the trees used for Volume 1 as that manual is worthless...should have printed the in-depth manual Volume 2... SEEK CONQUER DESTROY! :)
 
Specialized Communications emailed me today a UPS tracking # Yippee. Jasmine and everyone at Specialized have been extremely helpful with this order. I got to talk to real people there! Smooth transaction, highly recommend.
 
Trees are a harvested and renewable resource. Certainly, everyone is aware of that by now. The reason more and more products are delivered with electronic versions of manuals has more to do with saving money than trees - less money on printing and shipping.

We now return to more elated AF100 owners expressing their bliss. :)
 
Just received my new AF100! I had pre-ordered back on the 1st of November but I guess I was too far down the vendor's list to get one from the first batch. Some searching, and help from a friend, led me to Tapeworks Texas. They were able to secure one for me and now it is sitting very happily on a tripod next to me!!

I can't say enough about Tapeworks Texas, and my salesperson, Brad Parler! Amazing service, lots of feedback and they tolerated my numerous 'is it there yet?' phone calls and emails without getting annoyed. I will certainly do business with them again.

Bought a wireless mic system from Tapeworks Texas and Brad directly. The guy went above and beyond (on New Year's Eve to boot!) Here's another notch for their "smiles all around" belt.
 
Our AF101 arrived on Thursday - testing and configuring in the studio tomorrow with the Tektronix scopes, grade 1 and other monitors etc. etc. I think this is one of the first batches in the UK. I just wish I could find a good zoom solution without waiting for the electronic Canon mount or having to buy the 2 Olympus F2.0 zooms. If only we could justify a cine zoom...
 
Does anyone know of somewhere in the Seattle area where I could potentially pick up an AF-100? My patience is wearing thin with Glazer's.
 
My AF100 just came in. And it fits with all the portable gear into my ThinkTank StreetWalker HardDrive (very important for me to stay portable outdoors).
