Superman has been cast, Henry Cavill.

He looks the part, and has a lot of acting experience.

His role opposite Rourke in the $115mil "Theseus" should give him some celebrity boost before Superman comes out late next year.

He kinda looks like Cillian Murphy...

What happened to the other one ? He reminded me of the late Christopher Reeves who was the Real Superman !

I think they want to distance themselves from the previous movie, which wasn't the smash hit they were hoping for. I like that this guy is a little bit older.

Let me guess the plot, there will be superman and someone will find kryptonite and superman will be almost dying and then someone help him ,then he regains strenght and wins, the end.WOW.

LOL!

Or maybe they might go somewhere totally different with it. But every movie has to have conflict and what other conflict is there for Superman but Kryptonite... Nolan is very heavy on story, so let's hope for a better plot than the one you just described. At least put Spoiler Alert in your post, geesh.

Depends on which Superman. If it's Silver Age Omnipotent Superman, then sure, Kryptonite is a must. If it's post-Crisis-far-more-reasonable-Superman, then maybe not.

I read a rumor somewhere that an earlier idea Goyer had was Clark Kent's post-Smallville, pre-Superman days, where he travels around deciding if this Superman thing is really what he wants to do.

That sounds kind of like Batman Begins to me, but in a good way.

I just wish someone would make a period Superman movie where he's not all powerfull, can only leap tall buildings and run really fast instead of fly and kill sh*t with his laser eyes.

Yeah I'm with you Batutta, a little disapointed in that aspect as well. Rather Zod than that Sun guy from Superman V The Quest for Peace of SH#@.

As long as Snyder has nothing to do with the script it might turn out ok, just be prepared for 12 million speed ramp shots.

Okay, i already thought Michael Shannon was a great actor, but now that I've seen him in this interview I'm blown away. He doesn't look or sound like any character he's played. Totally different vibe he gives off in his natural state. Here he talks about Zod. He kind of sounds like Tony Soprano...or Moe on The Simpsons.

I dunno; any superhero has only a few main rivals, and if you take them to screen they're who you use. Superman's are Luthor and Zod. I don't think of Zod as a "Donner" villain any more than I think of Joker or Catwoman as "Burton" villains.

I think beyond Lex Luthor Superman doesn't have other well known villains. Zod isn't necessary. There are unused villains like Brainiac and Metallo that actually predate Zod.

I imagine he's attractive because he's the evil equivalent of Superman himself. Of course, last I checked, there were four other evil actual duplicates of Superman lurking about . . .

What a cool interview. Did he know this was gonna be broadcast LOL, he was talking like he was the boss of the studio. His answers were so not the normal politically correct hollywood answers. "This guy" "That guy" "Him" that's what he use to refer to Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill. LOL, I want more.

Yeah, he's a little hard to read at times, but I think it's honest bewilderment that they considered him for the job. Not because he felt he was above it, just the weirdness of the whole thing coming out of nowhere. I like that he gave props to Reeve for his performance.
