Unless it's 24fps? Or what if they transfer over the HDMI cable, isn't that like 10.2Gbps? (3 channels). It would not surprise me for Sony to do this.
 
AH, thanks barry that explains that. I'm interested in shooting more than 8-bit at some point. I can wait for the future.

In the meantime we are shooting with the fs-100 and a 400mm Optimo Angenieux lens. Looks terrific!

Good point on 24fps... I think 24p native, not with PsF and 3/2 pulldown, would work. I am not as familiar with HDMI, but it's a good point you make. I do know that HDMI 1.x(something, I think 1.3 or 1.4) supports "deep color" 12-bit. It will surprise me, however, if Sony deos this. It will be a very welcome surprise.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. 1) They make the FS100 without an SDI port which was a surprise to many. 2) They embedded time code into HDMI which no one else does. PURE SPECULATION HERE: Maybe they make it come out of HDMI and they make the recorder for it. Since no one else will probably support that immediately, they've got something else to sell you. :)
