It's not 10-bit, it's 8-bit, and yes 422. As far as I'm aware, 8-bit is the limit on HDMI.

Also no, if it did do 10-bit and 422 it would not kill an ALEXA or a RED, ever LOL.
I am sure in some ways those hybrid dslr will have compromise, but on the other side I will like to know which eng camera will shoot at the low light level of these hdslr. Yes there are compromise but on both side. These dslr bring another set of form factor and functionality which bring it sets of advantages and disadvantages. I see something like the Nikon d4 killing the eng cameras in extreme condition like war zone etc. For low light, portability and ... extreme condition shooting as I don't even know if you have weather seal video camera.
This camera is not meant primarily for the indie filmmaker user. It is meant at first for the photo journalist crowd as a hybrid, first photo then second video, but both very close. For this only it represents incredible value and will fly out of the shelf. This camera will have a profound effect on the pj world because of the mix media world we live in now (paper,tv and internet). These people have been buying the d3 and Canon 1d4 in the $5000/5500 new, so they are literally getting a video camera for free. The only error I think is the on-board codec. They should have implemented at least the broadcast 50 mbit 422, so that the camera is standard compliant. The footage will find it place in many newsroom but the 1dx will feature this 50 mbit 422.
Now as a tool for indie shooters, for me the resolution/sharpness for now is unknown and I think that we will find many more less costly Nikon alternative camera in the near future that will have a lot of the d4 feature.
Yup! I agree. you ought to state the CODEC is uses for your readers in the future. Oh and by the way, the Canon C300 captures on board at 422.They should have implemented at least the broadcast 50 mbit 422... and I think that we will find many more less costly Nikon alternative camera in the near future that will have a lot of the d4 feature.
New camera feature video, looks great!!

The question to keep asking ourselves is are nikon targeting serious eng/indie netcast shooters or soccer moms
So a 24mm prime can be a 36mm prime or about a 65mm prime.
Wow!
Me likes.
Does anyone know if there are any Canon EF to Nikon F mount adapters that allow control/retain the lenses electronic information (i.e. aperture, shutter, and so forth)?
And of course....a 24.
(More like 25mm but still)
Good point BTW. Maybe I'll just buy a good 24mm prime and call it good LOL!
Not to my knowledge. The problem is the size of the "opening" for the Nikon is much smaller. (The mount) Thus Nikon to Canon is abundant. Canon to Nikon ...not so much. (At least back in the days of my D90) Sorry...

The answer is no and there will never be one. Read this:

The only lenses you can put on a nikon body are Leica R.
You can also try M42 with a mount that uses a correcting lens but it´s not ideal.
But Kholi, at least if you are stucked with nikon and leica, you are lucky to be stucked with the best of the best. :cheesy:
"Correcting lenses" are never a good adapter/adaptor ;-) idea...The answer is no and there will never be one. Read this:
