The most wicked camera rig evar!

I think they are infringing on Ghostbuster's Proton Pack design :) Record images and cactch ghosts at the same time.

Being 6'4" as I am, I think that puts the shoulder mount stage slightly into the stratosphere if I used it :)

Why do they show a RED mounted on it yet the promotion video is in crummy SD quality with an annoying audio track? Anyone seen footage from the camera?

Looks quite useful actually, just a but more development maybe.

Don't see the point of bashing them.

If you can do better, let's see.

That's how the Borg started out...
No this is how the Borg started out:

It's called an opinion, and people make them here to see how others feel about equipment. You find it quite useful, that's good, maybe explain why you do or what you think could be developed better. Instead of bashing the bashers, maybe contribute?

Personally, I would not buy one of these systems for many reasons.

(1) I don't like the interconnect system for putting it together. I don't want to carry around a socket driver and additional allen wrenches.

(2) The camera sits way too high above the head. I need the camera lower. Even shooting on the shoulder can be challenging for me, but I do it. This design puts it even further up. Because of this, it doesn't do anything for me.

(3) The holding bar that comes out under the lens is going to get in the shot for wider lenses. I know this because I know my cameras and I know the lens on them. I've had to adjust my arm grips to take this into consideration. The problem with this design is it's bent metal. You can't adjust the bars to what makes more sense.

(4) Stability. Watch the video and look at the oscillations when the person is attaching things to the bars. The system does not look stable and those oscillations are going to show up in the video. When I use my Kessler crane and attach things to it, I don't see those oscillations.

Sure, I think they have some neat ideas, but so far, the execution just doesn't look worth $1700. Without even using it I can already see tons of problems I'd have with it. When you review equipment a lot, which I do for a lot of companies, I can see these problems just from watching the videos.

Also, the complete lack of example footage in the video doesn't even let you see what you could get.

Instead of trying to do 4 or 5 different setups poorly, they might have focused on the shoulder jib (neat idea) and made it REALLY useful.

.

And I don't think anyone was really "bashing" them. If you wanted to have a serious discussion on this product, it should have been posted in hardware rather than the Cafe... Not fair for you to get all serious on us now, Pookie. There is a lot of stuff that you post that would be considered "bashing" by your standards.
